MUTCD Official Stop Signs

Our Stop Signs are MUTCD Compliant and feature a standard octagon shape with a white legend on a red background. Size and material requirements vary from state to state so please check with your local DOT to ensure your sign meets specifications. Here at Dornbos Sign & Safety, Inc. we have been manufacturing traffic signs for over 60 years using high quality 3M High Intensity Prismatic and 3M Diamond Grade reflective material on heavy duty traffic grade .080 aluminum to ensure your sign lasts for years to come.

Stop signs should be placed at intersections where drivers are unable to safely determine the right of way rule. Intersections where a road with high traffic volume crosses a road with low traffic volume is an excellent place for a 2-way Stop sign placement. Simply place your Stop signs on either side of the low traffic volume road to avoid collisions with cars traveling at high speeds. Four-Way or All-Way Stop sign placements are ideal for intersections with two or more high volume traffic roads or in cases where accidents frequently occur. Supplemental plaques such as 4-WAY or ALL WAY may be required.
